Playa Avellanas is just 12 miles (19 km) from Tamarindo, making it an easy 30-minute drive. Since there’s no town center or supermarkets nearby, renting a car is highly recommended if you plan to stay for a few days.

The main entrance is through Lola’s Restaurant, where you’ll find an official public parking lot:
